Circuit is a UK-based company, but our team is global. To make that possible, we use three different types of contracts.
The type of contract you’d be offered depends on your location, role, legal requirements in your country, and your individual needs.
As Circuit is based in the UK, for team members based in the UK, we hire directly through the UK’s Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system. This means:
We don’t hire UK-based contractors, as every position here is full-time and permanent, which means all our positions fall inside IR35.
For team members based outside the UK, we sometimes work with an Employer of Record (EoR). An EoR is a third-party organisation that legally employs you in your country on our behalf. At Circuit, we use Remote.com.
How it works
Circuit hires Remote as a service provider, and then Remote hires people in their countries as full-time employees. Remote and the employee signs the contract, stating that the employee will work for Remote’s customer, Circuit.
Remote handle:
You work as a full member of the Circuit team — the EoR is simply the legal employer for compliance purposes.
