Leaving a company can be a tough decision, and we understand that. We want to make sure that when someone leaves, they have all the information and support they need.

In this section, we cover what to expect when someone leaves the team.

When it doesn’t work out

Our goal is to have a team of people who are autonomous, confident in their own work, and can handle a large amount of responsibility with minimal guidance.

If a team member struggles to adapt to our way of working or runs into challenges further down the line, we will do everything we can to maximize the chance of things working out and help them get on track.

Occasionally, it may be the wrong fit for both the company and/or the individual, and we may have to make the difficult decision to part ways.

⏳ Notice periods

We have notice periods to give us time to finish off projects, hand over work, and say goodbyes.

Usually, we don’t ask someone to work their notice period, and in these instances, they will receive pay in lieu of notice. This is decided on a case-by-case basis between the person leaving and their manager.

Length of Service Notice
Onboarding period One week
End of onboarding up to eight years Two months
Eight years+ An extra week for each full year, up to a maximum of 12 weeks.*

*Example - if the team member has worked for us for 9 years and 10 months, their notice period will be 9 weeks.

💰 Pay

No matter what the circumstances, team members will always be paid for hours they have worked, unused PTO they’ve accrued, and any expenses incurred during their time with us.

<aside> 💡 If the contract type includes local laws that differ from any of the above, we will pay the greater of the two.
